RELEASE DATE March 1, 2022
Synopsis: This addictive YA horror about a group of teen ghost hunters who spend the night in a haunted LA hotel is The Blair Witch Project for the TikTok generation.

When the YouTube-famous Ghost Gang—Chrissy, Chase, Emma, and Kiki—visit a haunted LA hotel notorious for tragedy to secretly film after dark, they expect it to be just like their previous paranormal huntings. Spooky enough to attract subscribers
—and ultimately harmless.
But when they stumble upon something unexpected in the former room of a gruesome serial killer, they quickly realize that they’re in over their heads.
Sometimes, it’s the dead who need our help—and the living we should fear.
MY THOUGHTS:
A group of ghost hunting YouTubers set out to the most haunted hotel in California hoping to catch some of your normal run of the mill paranormal activity. But they end up getting so much more.
The story is told in the four friends POV. Chase, the brains of the YouTube channel, Kiki, the cute popular girl with the most followers, Emma, the goth girl who helps run the cameras, and Chrissy, the secret ingredient. You get each of their perspectives and personalities which made for a refreshing read.
Also loosely based on the real story of Elisa Lam, the woman who went missing in the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles only to be found later in the hotel's water tower. Except in this story, it's Hearst Hotel and Eileen Warren and parts of her body were found scattered in the elevator shaft. The gang sets off to see if they can solve the mysterious happenings surrounding her death since a surveillance video shows her acting erratic before her body was found. It's a little bit Blair Witch Project meets Scooby-Doo, then sprinkle in a paranormal twist and you get Horror Hotel.
Takes place on Halloween weekend which made me want to go back into spooky season. This one hit all the spooky marks.
